Methods of Healing Miracles of Jesus: A Contextual Reading of Mark 7:31-37.
By Alice M. Nsiah and Godwin C. K. Deffor
Abstract
The research uses the contextual Bible study approach propounded by Gerald West to read the text with reading partners. The study uncovers the influence of the healing methods of Jesus on contemporary healing patterns of some Christian churches in Ghana. It also identifies the fact that miraculous healing is able to renew the faith of Christians and deepen their relationship with Jesus as well as arouse the faith of new converts. The study concludes that faith healing is a covenant renewal event that brings people to God’s family. The study recommends that faith healing should not be turned into an economic enterprise.
