Abstract

This study focuses on the impacts of the Bible on the cultures of the people of Amaeke Abam. Culture is the collective integration of background knowledge, traditions, beliefs, norms, values, and principles that form the unique characteristics of a community. Thus Amaeke Abam is one of those communities that are known for their diverse cultural heritage. These cultures and traditions were handed over to them from their forefathers and are preserved through folk tales/ oral traditions. This was obviously seen in their belief system before the advent of the Bible and Christianity. This study employs historical and qualitative research methods whereby data were collected from both primary and secondary sources and critically analyzed to clarify the influence of the Bible on some cultures of the people. By elucidating these complexities, it contributes to broader inquiries into ethical philosophy, enriching the understanding of the effects of the Bible, and promotion of moral values in the society.
